Why a Google Pay QR code
Google Pay lives on Android phones and in Chrome as a saved card that fills in online checkouts, so a printed code needs to lead somewhere that accepts it. Outside India no QR format exists that Google Pay reads on its own. The working setup is a code that opens a web payment page from Stripe, Square, Shopify or a similar provider, with Google Pay enabled in its settings. After scanning, Android visitors see the Google Pay button, pick a card from Google Wallet and confirm with a fingerprint, face unlock or PIN. India is different: there Google Pay scans UPI codes, and the UPI type produces those.

Does the code work through NFC?
No. NFC is for tapping a phone on a card terminal. This QR code opens a web checkout, where the customer chooses Google Pay among the payment methods.
What about Google Pay in India?
In India, Google Pay pays by scanning UPI QR codes. Create those with the UPI type, which puts a upi://pay request directly in the image.
Can Google Pay read a QR code by itself?
Only in India, where it scans UPI codes. Elsewhere it appears as a button in web checkouts, which is why this code opens your payment page.
What address goes into the code?
The complete https address of a checkout with Google Pay enabled, such as a Payment Link from Stripe or a Shopify or Square checkout page. Other formats are rejected for this type.
The Google Pay button does not show. What is wrong?
Usually one of two things: Google Pay is not enabled for that checkout in your provider's dashboard, or the visitor's browser has no card saved to Google Pay. Test on an Android phone in Chrome.
What happens on an iPhone?
The checkout still loads. Depending on your provider, iPhone visitors pay by card, Apple Pay or another available method.
Who handles the money?
Your payment provider. QR Global forwards the scan to its page and logs the visit in your statistics; card details never reach us.
Can one code cover several products?
A code points to one address. Build a checkout or a shop page with several items, or give each product its own code.
