Why an Ethereum QR code

An Ethereum address is forty-two characters long, and a single wrong character sends the funds somewhere they cannot be recovered. An Ethereum QR code opens a page with your address for the payer to check before paying, with a button that opens their wallet and another that copies the address. Can the same address receive tokens, not just ETH?

Yes, the same wallet address is commonly used for both ETH and Ethereum-based tokens (ERC-20), unlike Bitcoin's more narrowly scoped wallets.

Why do payers land on a page first?

Many camera apps open links in a built-in browser that cannot hand an ethereum: link to a wallet. The page shows the address and amount first, then the payer taps to open the wallet or copies the address.

Can I scan it with the scanner inside my wallet?

Point the regular camera app at it. The code contains a web link, not a bare address, and many wallet scanners only accept addresses.

In what unit should I enter the amount?

Who pays the network fee?

Can I receive USDT or other tokens with this code?

This code requests ETH. For stablecoins, use the USDT type, which also asks for the network so payers do not send tokens on the wrong chain.

How do I know a payment arrived?

Check your wallet or a block explorer. QR Global sees only that the code was scanned, not whether a transaction followed.
