Why a URL QR code

Printed web addresses lose people at the typing stage: a long path, a capital letter in the wrong place, one wrong character. A URL QR code removes that step. The code holds a short redirect link rather than your page address, so you can repoint it after the print run and compare how many visits each poster, flyer or package brings in.

  • Send people to any page without making them type a long address.
  • Change the destination later — the printed code keeps working.
  • See how many scans each placement brings, and at what time of day.
  • Works from any camera app; no reader to install first.

Print and packaging

A code on the box or insert takes buyers straight to setup instructions instead of a search results page.

Posters and signage

Passers-by reach the campaign page in one scan — and you learn which location actually performs.

Business cards and slides

Point to your portfolio or booking page without spelling out a URL in conversation.

Campaign attribution

Add UTM tags in the editor and visits from the code arrive in Google Analytics as their own source instead of disappearing into direct traffic.

Shelf and product labels

A code next to the price links to reviews, sizing charts or a comparison table that would never fit on a small label.

URL QR Code Generator | Create Free Link Dynamic QR Codes

A URL QR code is the fastest way to connect physical audiences to your online content. With a single scan, direct users straight to your desired web page without them needing to type long addresses.

What is this QR code?

A URL QR code contains a web address (HTTP or HTTPS). When scanned by a smartphone camera, it automatically prompts the user to open the embedded link in their default mobile browser.

Best use cases

  • ✓Product packaging leading to digital manuals or warranties.
  • ✓Business cards linking to personal websites or portfolios.
  • ✓Real estate signs directing to virtual property tours.
  • ✓Event posters linking to ticketing and registration pages.

How to generate your QR code

1

Open the page you want to share and take its address from the browser bar.

2

Paste it into the URL field; https:// is added for you if it is missing.

3

Optionally fill in UTM tags so print traffic shows up separately in your analytics.

4

Save the code, then download PNG for screens or SVG for print and scan a printed proof.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do URL QR codes expire?

Dynamic URL codes depend on the hosted redirect and the code’s account, status and expiry settings. Check those settings before a print run.

Can I change where the code points after printing?

Yes. A dynamic code stores a short link, so you edit the destination in your dashboard and every printed copy follows.

Does a longer web address make the code denser?

With a dynamic code, no — the code holds a short tracking link, so the pattern stays the same however long your destination is.

Do I need https:// at the start?

We add it automatically if you leave it out, so example.com and https://example.com both work.

Can I add UTM parameters?

Yes. Fill in source, medium and campaign in the UTM section. The tags are added to the destination on every scan, so the address you entered stays clean and analytics tools credit the visit to the code.

What if the destination page is taken down?

Scans would land on an error page, so point the code at a live address from your dashboard. If there is nothing to show yet, pause the code and visitors see a notice instead of a dead link.

Can different visitors land on different pages?

With smart redirect rules, yes: route by device, visitor language or a date range, and keep your main URL as the fallback for everyone else. Rules are available on plans that include them.
