Why an eSIM QR code
Operators send eSIM activation details as an email with two cryptic strings, and typing an SM-DP+ address on a phone keyboard is where installations fail. An eSIM QR code turns those details into the activation code the phone itself reads. Enter the SM-DP+ address and the activation code, or paste the whole LPA:1 string from the operator's message; the generator checks the address format and places the finished string straight into the image. There is no tracking link in between, because the phone's setup screen does not open web pages: it reads the code and downloads the profile from the operator.
- The phone reads the profile details straight from the image, with no typing on a small keyboard.
- Accepts either the two separate fields or a pasted LPA:1 string, and rejects a malformed server address before you print.
- Static by design: no redirect through our servers stands between the phone and the operator.
- Lets shops and IT teams hand over activation codes in their own design instead of a forwarded email.
Travel eSIM sellers
Airport kiosks and online shops give each traveller a card with the profile, ready to scan before the flight.
Phone shops and operators
Retail staff print the activation details in the store's own branding instead of reading strings aloud at the counter.
Company phones
IT teams prepare one code per employee device, so new starters install their work line on the first day.
Tablets and laptops with eSIM
Devices without a SIM tray get mobile data through the same scan in their network settings.
Helping relatives
A family member prints the code for a parent's new phone and walks them through the scan by phone.

eSIM QR Code Generator
Enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your operator, or paste the whole LPA:1 string from the activation email. The generator assembles the GSMA SGP.22 activation code and prints it as the QR pattern itself.
What is this QR code?
Phones with eSIM support read this string in their mobile network settings and download the operator's profile. The code is static and works without our servers. It does not create a mobile plan: the operator must have prepared the profile, and activation codes are often single-use.
Best use cases
- ✓Travel eSIM sellers handing a profile to a customer.
- ✓Company IT teams setting up employee phones.
- ✓Shops reprinting an operator's activation code in their own design.
How to generate your QR code
Copy the SM-DP+ address and activation code from the operator's email or card.
Enter them, or paste the whole LPA:1 string into the first field.
Download the code and keep it private, like a password.
On the target phone, open the eSIM option in the mobile network settings and scan the code.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I scan the code?
In the phone's mobile network settings, under the option to add an eSIM. On many phones the camera app also recognises the code and offers to add the plan.
Can I reuse the code on another phone?
Usually not. Most operators issue single-use activation codes, so a new one is needed after the profile is installed or deleted.
Who can see the activation code?
Anyone who scans the image can read it. Share it only with the device owner and don't publish it.
Where do I find the SM-DP+ address and activation code?
In the operator's activation email, app or card. The SM-DP+ address looks like a server name, for example rsp.example.com; the activation code is the string that follows it. If you only have a string starting with LPA:1, paste it whole into the first field.
How do I scan it on the phone?
Open the mobile network settings and choose the option to add an eSIM, then point the camera at the code. On many iPhones the regular camera app also recognises an eSIM code and offers to add the plan. The phone needs Wi-Fi or another connection to download the profile.
Can I test the code before giving it away?
Do not test it by installing: most operators issue single-use activation codes, and a test installation would use it up. To check what the image contains, read it with the free QR scanner among our tools, which only decodes the text.
Can I fix a typo after printing?
No. The activation string is part of the image itself, so a corrected code has to be generated and printed again. For the same reason there are no scan statistics for this type.
Which activation codes are supported?
The SM-DP+ address with an optional activation code, which is what operators provide in almost every case. Profiles that also require a confirmation code or an SM-DP+ OID cannot be built with this form.
Is it safe to share the image?
Treat it like a password. Anyone who scans it before the owner can try to install the profile, so hand it only to the person whose phone it is meant for and never post it publicly.
