Why a certificate verification QR code

A certificate on paper is easy to imitate, and employers rarely type a long verification address from a scanned PDF. A certificate verification QR code opens the issuer's own verification page for that document, so whoever reads the certificate can compare it with the official record in seconds. Paste the verification link from your registry, learning platform or laboratory and add the certificate or holder name so you can find the code in your dashboard. QR Global does not issue certificates and does not judge whether they are genuine; it gives the printed document a reliable route to the place that does, and that route can be updated if your verification system moves.

  • Opens the issuer's record for the specific document, not a generic home page.
  • If the verification system moves to a new address, update the link and certificates already issued keep working.
  • Scan counts show how often employers, clients or inspectors actually check your certificates.
  • On plans with bulk creation, one CSV file creates up to 100 codes, one per certificate.

Training and course certificates

Academies and online schools link each certificate to the learner's record with the course name and completion date.

Diplomas and transcripts

Universities let recruiters confirm a degree on the registry page instead of emailing the registrar's office.

Professional licences and ID cards

Associations print the code on member cards so clients can see that a licence is still valid.

Product and lab certificates

Manufacturers attach conformity or test certificates to shipments with a link to the issuing laboratory's database.

Event attendance and CPD credits

Conference organisers issue attendance certificates that professional bodies can verify for continuing education.

Certificate Verification QR Code Generator

A certificate QR code helps a reader find the issuer’s verification record without typing a long reference URL. Use a destination for the particular certificate rather than a generic homepage when the issuer provides one.

What is this QR code?

A certificate QR code leads from a printed certificate to the issuer's own verification page. The record, its status and its authenticity are confirmed there, not by the code.

Best use cases

  • ✓Training certificates linked to an issuer’s record.
  • ✓Product documents linking to an existing verification service.

How to generate your QR code

1

Obtain the certificate-specific verification URL from the issuer.

2

Paste it into the certificate link field.

3

Print the issuer name and document reference beside the code.

4

Compare the record that opens with the printed certificate before issuing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does generating a code certify my document?

No. A QR link does not issue a certificate or prove that its claims are genuine.

What if the certificate is revoked?

Revocation must be reflected by the issuer’s verification system. The generator does not independently check certificate status.

Does QR Global verify the certificate?

No. The code only opens the verification page you supply. Whether the document is genuine, revoked or expired is decided by the issuer's system behind that page.

Could someone copy the code onto a fake certificate?

Yes, and it would still open the genuine record. That is why the verification page should show the holder's name, the date and a document number that the reader can compare with the paper in front of them.

Why does the scan pass through a QR Global address first?

The code contains our short link so the destination can be changed without reprinting. After the scan, the reader should check that the page they land on belongs to the issuer's official domain.

What link should I use?

A page for the individual certificate, ideally with its ID in the address, rather than a search form or a home page. If your system offers only a search page, print the certificate number next to the code.

Can I create codes for a whole graduating class?

Yes, on plans with bulk creation: prepare a CSV file with a type and a content column, one verification link per row, and upload up to 100 rows at a time.

What is the certificate or holder name field for?

It names the code in your dashboard, for example by holder and course, so you can find a specific certificate later. People who scan the code do not see it.
